About Us
As the years go by, it is becoming more and more evident how futile our present industry is for the appropriate care of athletes.  A  tremendous  amount  of    athletes  are  performing  high-leve activities  even  though  they may  have unknown  structural  imbalances  or  they may be  inefficient  in  their             fundamental  movements.  These individuals create poor movement patterns, train around pre-existing  problems  or  simply  do  not  train  their                   weaknesses  during  their  strength  and  conditioning programs.  This can drastically distort body mechanics and performance, setting the athlete up for chronic, non-contact injuries and pre-mature breakdown.

In today’s evolving training and conditioning market, athletes have access to a huge arsenal of equipment and workout programs.  However, the best equipment and programs cannot produce if the fundamental weaknesses are not exposed and corrected.  Less sophisticated, high volume   programs (and majority) put athletes on strength and conditioning programs based on their sport or position. Very few base their program on the athlete's specific structural and functional needs.

The result is the development of AthletesEDGE, one of the most comprehensive sports performance programs available with several programs that will help athletes have a more successful career, either preventing injuries or treating them effectively.

Body Systems
The foundation to optimal athletic performance requires proper development of all 3 body systems.  As traditional sports training programs focus on developing the active system, most overlook the importance of the control and stability     systems.  Underdevelopment of these systems will increase the potential of    sustaining non-contact and chronic injuries.

Our comprehensive analysis of posture, balance, core strength and body movement identifies any imbalance within these systems. Testing and evaluation results provide information for professional treatment and training recommendations.

Sports Medicine
Sports medicine specializes in preventing, diagnosing and treating injuries related to participating in sports and/or exercise, specifically the rotation or deformation of joints or muscles caused by engaging in such physical activities.  Because of the competitive nature of sports, a primary focus of sports medicine is the rapid recovery of patients, which drives many innovations in the field.

Sports Medicine  has  grossly misled  athletes today.  Athletes are educated wrong and suffer because of this  inadequate education.  The only time an athlete would ever consider seeing their sportsmed provider is when they’re injured.  This  would  suggest  there  is absolutely nothing beneficial that can be done for an athlete prior to an injury.

There are 4 basic flaws with today’s Sports Medicine industry:

  1. We wait until an athlete is injured before we do anything.
  2. We only look at the site of injury.
  3. Our treatment goals are “to eliminate symptoms”.
  4. We allow insurance guidelines to dictate what care is provided.

As athletes, we have much greater, more demanding and continual needs that should never be based only on symptoms nor governed by the insurance industry. Structural Management and Functional Movement guidelines are much more suited to the needs of athletes;

  • Examine biomechanics prior to season and make corrective recommendations.
  • Begin taking corrective measures immediately.
  • Never let symptoms be the call to action.  The ultimate goal is maximum biomechanical improvements, and once that has been achieved, structural and functional maintenance becomes a lifetime mission.

What athlete has any other goal than a long and healthy career? We must think differently, act differently and be different if we want results better than what the masses are getting. We must act today in doing the things that are now available to us in an effort to improve conditioning and prevent injuries. And, if you become injured, the first call should never be to your primary. They are just not prepared to deal with you or your structural and functional needs.

Structural Management
The Structural Management Program is the most advanced sports biomechanics program available today.  Most sports injuries are due, at lease in part, to structural imbalances that can be addressed prior to injury.  The hallmark of this program is the Structural Fingerprint Exam which detects biomechanical ‘irregularities’, followed by a specific treatment program to restore optimal function.

The Structural Management™ Program is designed to systematically detect and correct biomechanical or architectural imbalances and distortion patterns.  This road map, of sorts, strategically takes the patient through the necessary process to reach maximum biomechanical improvements in a realistic time frame.

In our present, overly reactive healthcare industry, this program encourages a more pro-active approach.  Starting with The Structural Fingerprint™ Exam, it is important to look at each and every patient and their structural uniqueness that truly exists.  No two structures are identical, and the starting point for every patient must begin with their unique biomechanical findings.  Once this information is determined, an effective corrective program can begin.

Functional movement
A focal point of this program is that significant limitations or right and left side imbalances exist in some individuals at very basic levels of movement.  These limitations and imbalances should not be overlooked.  The body should be free of restrictions and free of imbalances prior to training, conditioning, competition and fitness activities.  The significant limitations in left-right imbalances drastically distort motor learning, movement perception, body awareness and mechanics.  They rob the body of efficiency and are very often hidden by those individuals who learn to and substitute with other movement patterns.
