In coordination with chiropractic care or on its own,
massage therapy has major benefits in restoring and maintaining proper
soft tissue function.
Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the
deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns
of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on
the contracted areas, either following or going across the fiber's of
the muscles, tendons and fascia.
Myo-Fascial
Myo-Fascial Release is a deep stretching technique that breaks up the
adhesions in the fascia. Fascia is connective tissue that is directly
under the skin. Every time the human body experiences physical, emotional
or mental trauma the it holds on to the trauma in the fascia.
Craniosacral
Craniosacral massage is a process of meditation. All traumatic experiences
are held in the dura-mater. The dura-mater is a protective coating that
covers the skeletal system. During a session the therapist is able to
start and stop the dura pulse. While the pulse is stopped, the dura-mater
is able to correct itself.
Lymphatic
Lymphatic massage is a light massage, which promotes the flow of lymph
and helps the body detoxify itself. This massage is recommended for cancer
patients and anyone suffering from extreme edema.
Trigger Point
Trigger Point is a technique that helps alleviates knots that have formed
to the muscular system. It is a process of slowly breaking down the tissue
until the muscle is released.
Pre-Natal
Massage during pregnancy is therapeutic bodywork which focuses on the
special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic
changes of the childbirth experience. It is a fast-growing field in the
United States that has attracted the interest of labor and delivery nurses,
nurse-midwives, childbirth educators and obstetricians. Massage therapy
enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and
general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.
Post-Natal
Post-natal massage helps correct any muscular ailments that have occurred
during pregnancy. It promotes relaxation, muscle toning, blood flow and
helps restore the body to the way it was before pregnancy.
Reiki
Reiki is a gentle form form of hands-on healing developed in Japan.
The practioner uses a variety of hand positions with light pressure on
various areas of the client's full clothes body.
The treatment focuses on balancing the body's energy
systems (chakras).
